Look for a program called power defrag.

This uses its own dos mode.

I use this all the time 5 STARS

Dear Friend,

Scandisk will keep restarting due to changes in hard drive are happening. This problem occurs specially if you have many programs running in the Systray

Please start your system in safemode and try to scandisk and defrag your hard disk.

To start Windows in Safe mode,

1. Switch on the system.
2. Hold F8
3. You will displayed a windows with an option to select safe mode.
4. Select safe mode and press enter.

Please let me know the results when you are done.

Regards,
Qginie.
