Windows Me hangs on boot up and gives the following error message: "An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C004C715 In VxD VFAT(02) + 0000CC25. This was called from 0028:C1830BC0 In VxD voltrack(04) + 00000430. It may be possible to continue normally..."
When I press any key I'm dead. When I boot up in Safe Mode most of the desktop icons have a file extension attached to them its, "ink". They don't work. A message comes up that says that I should go to the Folder Options file and fix the connections.
In Safe mode I can't open the System Folder to try to disable System Restore becasue I get the same message that the icons aren't connected.
In Safe Mode my CD Drive doesn't work so I can't try to reinstall ME to fix the corrupted files.
Finally, I have also gotten the following error message on regular mode boot up, however it doesn't get to this anymore,: "The IPHLPAPI.DLL file cannot start. Check the file to determine the problem."
Anything that can be done to fix this?
