I tried to place an order thru Crutchfield.com & each time I clicked "checkout", I got a "The page cannot be displayed" window. I checked my security settings in EI's Tools/Internet Options & everything seems to be correctly set. This is my own PC with no system administrator or firewalls. I tried on my other PC & I was able to connect & place the order without any probs. My other system has Win98, but both are running IE 5.5.

I assume there must be something that's setup incorrectly. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks.

Try going to the Tools menue in IE and select "windows update". Get the latest version of IE.

This could have been a hickup on the server you were connected to. I have often had the same problem and waited a few minutes and tried it again and it worked.

Check that your browser has 128-bit encryption by clicking on help in Internet Explorer, then about internet explorer and see what the cipher strength is. It should be 128 bit. If not, that's your problem. Post back if that's the problem because there is a fix for that. However Jonas might be right also.

I took your advice....click on HELP & then ABOUT...I got an error message & IE closed. I tried a couple of times & got the same error. I went to Add/Remove in Control Panel & tried to repair IE but was told that it could not be repaired & that I should reinstall...so that's what I'm about to do. Thanks for the suggestions. I assume that reinstalling will correct the problems. I'll post back with my results...

I posted a similar problem. This pops up on my pc all the time and I still do not know why.

I have had this problem on the same pc with netscape and IE 5.5. so I assume it is a WinME problem.

Please post back if you figure it out.
