I recently reformatted my hard drive. Now when i try to install my Canon s300 printer with the driver CD or a downloaded driver intaller, it wont detect it. It is a USB device. The driver installs fine, but then when it come to dect the port it just wont. In the Device Manager, under the USB section it doent come up like my other USB devices do. Im stuck. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Remove the printer and all the software. Search the registry and remove the keys for cannon 300 (backup registry first). Shut the pc off.
If the printer is attached to a hub, disconnect it and attach it directly to the pc. If it is attached to the pc, try a different port. Remove all other USB devices.
Power on with the printer on. Windows should detect and prompt you to install. If not, try another port and/or a different usb cable.
