Hi,
anyone able to help me. I can not install Canon LBP 660 Printer on Windows ME - Canon support says there is no Driver that supports Windows ME - Can that be true?

Anyone familiar with this issue

i checked couple more sites for that printer and they recomend using windows 98 driver,
much of oldrer good hardware is not supported by winodws ME... if the 98 driver wont work it is your choice either to upgrade from windows ME to windows 98 or to buy a new printer. I like epson stylus 777
you might end up buying a new printer everytime microsoft comes out with a new operating system

well download the win 98 driver anyway most 98 drivers work with me me is just win 98 3rd edition they probably never updated the site when me comeout

Right, I've got the same Problem. There is no Driver for WinXP. They recommended to use Win2000 driver, but it didnt work out! If anybody knows more, please send me an e-Mail. Thanks!

The windows 2000 drivers DO work for the LBP 660 under XP. Make sure you have your BIOS settings to ECP / EPP mode (not solely ECP) and you should be fine. I had problems at first then fiddled around in BIOS and never looked back!

I've used the win2k for the lbp-660 and they have worked fine in XP pro.

I've networked the printer between other XP pro machines, but cannot get a networked win98 machine to use the printer running of the XP pro system.

any idea how to?

I've even installed the client software on the 98 machhine, but still no go.

uhuh,

That's the whole Micro$oft policy folks
(especially MS XP's): no support and
drivers for hardware older than -say- 3
years. Buy a new printer! Or install Linux.
Mandrake oe Suse is very good for
beginners, and it is free!

www.canon.fr/telech/telech.htm but it dos't work and you lose your time. The best way is to call the Canon Technical Support in your area
