Comment: I'm running an HP Pavilion w/800 Mhz Celeron and 128 Mb RAM. I have a Canon BJC-4400 Bubble Jet printer hooked up to it through a serial cable on my LPT1 port. All the software is installed properly all the icons come up and windows recognizes it as the default printer but when I go to print a document the printer acts like it is printing, the ink cartridges are full, the cable is new, and I even tried a different cable. But the problem is nothing comes out on the paper. I also tried downloading and installing the Windows ME patch for that printer from Canon, and still nothing comes out on my pages. If anyone knows what could be wrong, a response would be very appreciated, thank you all. -Steve

Reply: (edit)Ok FYI printer port is "Parallel" not "Serial". Have you run diagnostics? I prsuem you have Canon MultiPass software? Should have MultiPass diagnostics as well. If printer is moving the print head so as to print, it should be printing. Sounds like bad printer head. Have you had it out lately? Or changed ink cartridges?

Reply: (edit)Hi, I had a similar problem with a Canon BJC 2100. To this point, I have not found a solution but I do know that it is related to communications between the print head and the printer interface. I have tried new cables, new cartridges, new printer heads, all to no avail. I have also dismantled the printer, cleaned all parts, reset components etc. If I find something, I will let you know.
