hello in m.e the only time you should be deined permision if you have more than one user or if your on a net work. i would do and online scan at housecall anti virus. 1 of the sircam virus gives this rerror mesage. allso do the things in this link http://www.burzurq.com/forum/trevtweak.html how 2 run m.e well ver.4
What are you trying to download? Depending on where it is located, there "could" be server permissions preventing you from doing this. If you can't download anything at all there's something seriously wrong though.
Try a few simple tests, first on an image on a web page, find a nice picture and right click to save target as. See if your pc will save the picture and if it's then in the directory you specified.
It did occur to me that you might be behind a firewall, is that likely? This might prevent download from certain sources.
Give us more info and we should be able to help more.
