Cannot Renew IP

I have a problem with renewing ip address. I took the comcast cable internet, when I was trying to install it.. I am constantly getting message stating I have problem with renewing my IP address. Any idea? Your help will be appreciated.

Try this. Go to Start -> Run -> and type in winipcfg. Then renew your IP adress.
Either that or you can try doing this. Go to Start -> Run -> regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services and look all the way down for a folder named Winsock2. Delete this folder and remove all your network adapters in System Devices. By doing this, all of your internet adapters and settings should be *refreshed*.
After that, reboot and your computer should find all of your network adapters for your cable modem. Install the drivers using the CD you got and by doing this, a new WinSock2 folder will be created. You should always do this whenever you get a DNS Error when you're connected to the internet.

It may just be that the TCP/IP properties are not set for DHCP (obtain address automaticlly). Check on that before messing with the registry.
