Hi,
I'm trying to install tweakui, but cannot get the .inf 'install' option to work. It just tells me that there is no program associated with it. Please help.
Thanks,
John

From memory, right click on all the files you extracted, not just the .inf, and look for "install" can't remember off hand which one it is.
...assuming you've followed instructions like these that is.
http://www.cybertechhelp.com/tutori...
and I would try tweakui.cpl for the install option.

John, See if the instructions at the link below under "Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows 95" are of any help.

If the above doesn't help go to the link below and scroll down to "To reestablish the inffile association:" where you'll find a .inf file association fix.

Hi Viking/Tufenuf,
Since I was convinced that it was a file association problem, I went directly to the inf fix. It did the job.
Thank you both for the help.

O.K.
Well, already I've lost my quick launch toolbar by unchecking shell enhancements. Not to worry though, I have it back. I'll let you know as others develop.

John, Before you get carried away with TweakUI check out the link below especially the "Warning!" and "BUG?" sections. It may save you some agony. LOL

Sorry, I got that wrong. Thanks Tufenuf. I looked at the site, and will keep the warnings in mind.
Viking, you like to live on the edge eh?

Half the fun of playing around is breaking stuff, enhances the learning curve, develops the brain, feeds the soul.
...or summat like that.

Shak - right click on one of the read me files and you will get an "install" option. Select install and a window will open allowing you to browse for the required folder. Then just navigate to where you have the TweahUI files saved and click on it. You will then get a .inf file and click OK. It will then put TweakUI in the control panel.

Hi Sky,
Thanks for the input, but Tufenuf's reply (#2) to re-establish the .inf file association did the trick.
