cannot get internet explorer webpag

I get connected to the internet OK.If I click on outlook express icon I can view my emails. However I cannot get a home page. When I click on the internet explorer icon on my desk top nothing happens. Other icons for other programs work.

everard, there are some bad guys out there who will hijack your homepage to another site (porn, etc.). I'm guessing that is not what is happening to you or your complaint would be about the redirected site. My SWAG is that the address you have set as a homepage is incorrect. Can you get there if you try to go there like any other site? If so, re-enter the addy in IE and see if that helps. HTH. Ed in Texas.
