Hey

However i don't have a emergencey boot disk, and when that screen appears no keys can be typed. I have a toshiba, and even if a boot disk cam along with it i have no idea where it is! help me!! I don't know what to do!! Thanks in advance!!

sue,
You can download a boot disk from,
BootDisk.Com
Make sure you follow the instructions on how to make it. After it's downloaded.Or, if the computer you are using right now is 98 or ME. Make one with it.
Then start your computer, with the disk you made, in the drive. When the start menu appears, choose with out cd-rom support. Then as the message says, do a scanreg /restore.
To do this, type;
scanregx/restore
Press EnterYou will be presented with a list of backup registries. Choose the latest one with the word (Started), next to it. When it says you have restored a good registry. Take the boot disk out, and press Enter.
If you still have problems, repeat this but, go back to the next date.
Hope this helped
Good Luck
