That's in the System Restore folder. You just need to disable System Restore, reboot to clear everything, then re-enable System Restore and it will set a new clean restore point. Run another virus scan before re-enabling Sys Restore just to make sure the virus is gone.

The virus might be trapped in the C:\_RESTORE file. The first one you come to when you open Explorer.

You MUST delete it by booting-up on your Windows Start-Up diskette (bootdisk), choosing help at the choice page, then exiting the choice page by using Alt, File, Exit, waiting for the A:\ DOS prompt to appear, and typing: A:\>C: and press enter.

Then type: C:\>DEL C:\_RESTORE and press enter.

This will delete the _RESTORE file and Windws will build a new one when you re-start your system.

Then type: C:\>DEL C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\DATACOLL\*.*

and press enter, and then type: C:\>scandisk /all and press enter,

then do a FULL disk scan which takes one hour per 10 Gigabytes of disk space as this will make your disk surface MORE receptive to data AND prevent you losing data, as well as making the disk more stable as a direct result.

Exit the ScanDisk program and as an excercise type: C:\>scanreg /restore

and you will see the old way of restoring your system before the troublesome invention of "system restore" which is largely a failure. I do not use it anymore, preferring to use C:\>scanreg /restore.

Now get back to the C:\> prompt (DOS prompt) and hold your start button in for five seconds to stop your machine completely, and withdraw the diskette.

Restart the computer holding down the Ctrl key until you get to the next choice screen and choose "safe mode", again pressing enter.

Exit the help screen when it appears by clicking on the X and run CleanDisk, ScanDisk and Defrag in safe mode. Re-boot your system.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Using system restore shortly after an anti-virus up-date can prevent Windows from starting the a-v engine. You will see a warning notice to this effect. If this happens you will need to un-install your A-V and/or Firewall in safe mode and re-install in normal mode. You must then run live-update BEFORE going on-line for anything else.

Your computer should now be working.

Go to your anti-virus "options" and ensure that there are NO exclusions listed in the "file types to exclude" window.

Hello .... My Anti-Virus scan keeps detecting a JS/NoClose virus.

It has been in the Temporary Internet files each time. When I went

to the A-V web-site they recommended I disable my System Restore Utility and check

to see if the virus might be in a _RESTORE file somewhere .................. etc.
