can browse network but no internet conne

I can connect throughout our LAN but cannot connect to the internet. I am on a LAN at my university which uses DHCP so I shouldn't have to change any settings... it should just connect, right?

Hump... Just make sure that IP is NOT set to an static Address, i mean, it should have "Obtain IP Automatically / by server" set.
If that doesn't work, that's what i can do so far...

I didn't set an IP at all. It obtains one automatically...

Have you been able to access internet before? May be that LAN manager is not allowing internet connection. This can be done a number of ways, and can be time sensitive ie: connection allowed only between blah blah and blah bla blah, or it could be set to allow certain IPs access? Make sure your IE connection properties are set to LAN. Other than that, I would check with IT.
