can a hard drive cause a laptop to reboot automatically? because anytime I'm doing a lot of things on my laptop it automatically reboots

Eagle, anything's possible. IMHO, doubtful. A far more likely culprit in my view is some sort of nasty. There's one about in particular that causes continual reboots. Seems it can be cleaned in safe mode if I recall correctly?

nah it aint spam , I run spybot and ad-aware se pro a lot , and I always have AVG Anti Virus loaded also there is ticking coming from the hard drive when ever there is rapid drive access

if it isn't a bot or virus (you might want to do an online scan at trend versus assume your AV is working), then it is more likely RAM or your PSU than a HD. A HD would generally lock up but not restart.
