Howdy folks, have an ME setup question.

I'm not too familiar with ME (I have 98se myself), this is about Aunt's system (she's 4 hr away).

She had some problems with game disks and messed up o/s. Put in a local shop & they said hdd dead.
Replaced Hdd and reloaded WinME, etc.

I know that the 2 other people I know with ME systems have a c & D partition and D is for System Restore(whether it works or not).

This new hdd only has C: on hdd, D & E are now her 2 cd-rom & cdrw drives.
Q: Does ME System Restore function with only a C:drive? Thanks for responses.

Yes, System Restore should function fine if you have your critical updates. Actually I think OEM installations do a Factory Restore from the D partition rather than System Restore using it for storing backups, at least that is how my Compaq system is set up.

System Restore uses a folder in the root of C drive called _restore on my system. I have had System Restore disabled for some time, but the folder still exists and I empty it from time to time.
