Bypassing Windows Me Comliance Check

i have a computer and a windows me update but when i try to install it on a formatted drive it asks for the windows 98 compliance check or something is there a way i can bypass this? i have a recovery disk that came with my Acer computer and it has windows 98 in it i found the cabs on that cd is there a way i can copy those cabs to the c drive and extract them? cause when i try to install from the recovery disk it says sorry this is not a acer computer. thnx guys

If that is a legitimate copy of ME, you can call Microsoft, explain your situtation and obtain a bypass product ID key.

Other than that... nope.
