When I turn my computer on, I get this error box it says this: Explorer has caused an error in BROSWEUI.DLL Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting you computer.
Well I have tried that, I have tried to find how to fix this. I can't get into my e-mail or anything. I don't think that you will be able to help me through e-mail so here is my home phone number also 207-938-4139

Did this just happen or has it never worked? It may be a registry problem but i need to know how long it has not worked first. What version of IE are you using? If its not 5.5 go download and install thet.If it is then try the self repair feature found in add/remove programs of the control panel.Click start, click settings, click control panel, click add/remove programs, click ie explorer and tools, click remove, click repair option and let it do its thing.
let us know anything other info you can think of ok

I have the same problem. Running Windows ME and on boot Explorer message about BROWSEUI.DLL
Thanks jimi_1 for your response. But it is not a problem with IExplorer, but with Explorer. No matter what I left click, right click, anything click I get the error. Clicking on START button gives error. Click on desktop, same error. You name it. I'm hosed.
My problems started after an install of Microsoft Visual Studio Professional. I chose to install some of the optional server stuff, and I did hit a few glitches when installing PWS. I think PWS install caused this in my case.
New computer - have not made a boot floppy yet. Don't know what I am going to do. Have a recovery CD but haven't tried to see if the PC will boot from CD yet. Thinking I may want to install a new hard drive first so that files on my original are not wiped out.
Anyone have any other suggestions?? Does ME have a SAFE mode, like in 98?

i have the same problem, this just happened one day when i restarted my computer:(
i hate this and i cant even fix this.
Also how do i enter msdos from the reboot, so i can reinstall windows
i am in desperate help
crezel

start your computer with ME Startup Disk
go to Dos
then run Scanreg it should take out the corrupted registry errors and replace them with working ones

I think the solution lies in getting the registry for your computer cleaned up with Scanreg (which is a program already installed on your computer). I found these two useful resources for dealing with this
problem:http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000409.htm
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q218/9/83.aspHope that helps,
J

The above information does not and will not help... what usually has happened is that you have hit the restore to a previous configuration in IE repair.. I am still working on a fix for this problem.. but extracting or ie repair will help..search those out..
