I have a pentium III. Running Windows ME. When I boot up this error pops up "SETUPX.DLL has caused an error in Setupx.dll. Msgsrv32 will now close" If I reboot about 5 times and click ignore several times until I get the hour glass, then I can boot up, and run. But every time I shut down I have to go though the process again, Can anyone tell me what my problem is and help me to fix it. I have ran Trendmicro scan and shows no virus.

trees60, seems to be a common problem. Not sure what needs to be done to fix the problem, but you can find more info at:

If I remember right..setup x is part of the windoze sub system in the 95 networking core.
Msgsrv32 is the componant that bridges the gap from winme to the win95 core so that all is linked to your problem.Unless you have done something wild or installed something huge and problematic...
then I would suggest you have a problem with internet stuff you loaded ( modem or ethernet installations etc) or..an update killed something you needed... or... you have spyware on your computer BIG time. NOt as in lots but as in a really powerful surveilance program cause they use those same kinds of hidden connections.Installing windows OVER windows will solve most problems.. but if it persists after that then I think you have some kind of monitoring program which only a clean install will solve.(reformat and load windoze)
Dont freak though... its probably one of my first two suggestions.
If your savvy, you can try UNinstalling all your network stuff in add/removeprograms in your control panel. Then COLD boot and run norton win doctor to get rid of bits left behind. Then re install your network stuff.
ITs definately a connection thing.
A computer is a perfectionist's nightmare.
