OS: Windows ME
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon 100MHZ 32MB RA
Model/Manufacturer: AMD Athlon Model Advent 3
Comment:
I have just had a computer given to me.When I try and boot the system up which is running Windows ME I get the error message:
Boot From Atapi CD-ROM Failure.I have changed the BIOS Settings so that it now has the HD first followed by CD-ROM followed by Floppy. All it does now is proceed to load to just a blue screen. After three or four minutes I have another error message come up. " Stgmr has caused an error in SMGR.DLL
Any Idea how I can get things up and running past blue screen.Unfortunately I don't the exact operating system other than it is a AMD Athlon connected to a DAEWOO monitor.

Thanks v much for sending me that link.
As it happens , this morning I spoke to a friend and he said Win98 was a better package than ME.So what I did was use the system restore floppy and cd and restored it to Win 98 and it seems to be running fine now.
Thanks again
