Boot Failure..System Halted

Whenever I restart my computer (Cold Boot ) I get the message Boot Failure..System Halted I have to turn the computer on and off sometimes 40 times till windows finaly starts ....If I reboot with the restart button I don`t get this problem any Ideas would be greatly apprecieated

Hello, Check your BIOS settings and make sure that they are correct. A bad stick of ram could also cause this. Where exactly does your PC freeze? Can you get it to boot in safe mode?

When I push the start button the lites on the hard drive ,cd and cd writer come on the hard drive lite stays on ...about 30 seconds later the lites on the floppy ,cd ,and cd writer flash for a few seconds ...then I hear one beep and the message comes on Boot Failure..System Halted...can`t start in safe mode either ....
