Hi

My computer was running slow and it kept crashing so i decide to put the recovery disks back into it to start from scratch, so i put them in and i flowed the instructions that it gave me, it told me to do a fdisk on it to initialise the hard drive and then i formatted the hard drive and started the recovery processes. This was ok, when it finished it took me through the registering bit and i was back on windows ME, i then started to reinstall some of my programs, after doing the first one it told me to restart my computer, and i did but this is where it all went wrong, it came up "HP" and the floppy disk drive light came on and the message " load error press any key to reboot " i pressed the enter key and it said the same thing, i tried using the fdisk program of the recovery disk and then using the format tool and the recovery tool again but the same message comes up.
Please help, George

When you restarted the machine and the floppy light came on...with the error...did you have a floppy in the machine? Were you actually trying to boot to that floppy, and perhaps it wasn't a bootable floppy? What happens when you remove your CD/floppy, and make sure that the HDD is the first (and only) boot device set in the BIOS?

Hi

When I boot up there was no floppy disk in the drive, I went into the BIOS (witch is phoenixBIOS) and I went on to "boot" and "boot device priority" and it says the flowing:

-Removable devices
Legacy floppy drives
atapi cd-rom
-Hard drive
Bootable add in cards
St340810a- (pm)
Network boot

Is this correct?

Boot with a Startup diskette and run FDISK again and check the disk drive. Make sure the Primary partition on the disk drive is marked A for Active.
