can you please help ?
I was getting some error messages on explorer 6. so I decided to re-install it.
I am running windows me with Norton.
I uninstalled from add/remove and now can not get my pc to boot up at all(even in safe mode )
Norton said it is not their problem.
On start up I get :
Explorer has caused an error in Shell32.dll
Explorer will now close

Thanks a lot

Same thing happened to me. I restarted with a boot disk and reinstalled windows. That fixed the problem for me.

albert
norton could be the problem
try disabling from startup all norton, symantic apps
if not that, see if any of fixes here apply

oh by the way
what error messages were you receiving in IE 6 to start this adventure?
if you get these messages in the future take the time to carefully use that ancient and oft lost utility known as "write it down" to communicate it to others, it worked for our ancestors
i know it sounds odd, but i keep a paper and pen handy for just these circumstances
post #1 might be right
good luck albert
