Hi Robert,

I found this, it appears to be identical to my problem: http://miataru.computing.net/windowsme/wwwboard/forum/28443.html

Downloaded VIA Hyperion 4-in-1 drivers as instructed, but got this warning message immediately after the VIA Service Pack Setup was completed:

"Registry error! Please reboot computer."

Regards
Chris

I don't the sis 630 is a card (EG pci or agp), its the chip on the motheer board. I think you have onboard graphics. This is an older chip so removing the case isn't going to void the warranty, if you feel comfortable remove the case, use a flash light and confirm that it is onboard. Try not to touch anything. While your in there get a can of compressed air at radio shack and blow out the dust. Pay special attention to the heat sinks and power supply. If you confirm that its onboard, I would remove all previous drivers, reboot so that windows standard graphics is installed then go to this site
http://www.sis.com/download/download_step1.php download, unzip (you will need winzip), then install and reboot. Please wait before doing this to see what other more experienced and knowledgeable posters think!!

Thanks for the advice Larry. I upgraded yesterday and the machine's performance has greatly improved. So far, so good!
