I am getting the following at shutdown: vmm(01) + 0000c0c1 error : 0E :0028 : c000d0c1 When I shutdown, the machine gives me this error at a blue screen, press any key to continue,.... then I go to a blank desktop with no icons...basically frozen. Any help would be great!! Matt

I had a similar problem, a blue screen of death at shutdown, and the solution was updating my graphics card driver (I got an Nvidia Geforce 2 MX card), so a change of drivers (maybe soundcard or graphics card) could solve the problem. It could be also a problem related to the HD not writing cache data back to disk due to speed problem , which can be solved by downloading a patch from Windows Update ..

I was also getting the intermittent blue screen at shutdown error. Upgraded to the nvidia 12.41 drivers and it seems to have fixed the problem,,,,fingers crossed.
