Mu grandson dropped off his pc to me and upon turning on all there i see is a black screen with a message saying to go into the control panel to configure the display, which i cant see. I tried with a boot disk and still nothing. I put in the system recovery cd and it seems to be running but see nothing but a black monitor. What is going on. He thinks Nana can help him but i am lost..Please Please help me if you can.

I forgot to mention...the monitor light is yellow and not green..any answer fr this as well.

Go into safe mode (hit F8 just prior to Windows loading) and delete the entry in Device Manager for the Graphics card, reboot and Windows should reinstall the driver....
