Upon boot, black screen, you'll need to read how to acces the bios,
by pressing "del" key on some systems.
in there you will find a selection for setting a password for you bios.

Hi Victoria,
I hope this will be of help to you. But first I want to say that if you setup a password in your BIOS please write it down if you don't use a standard password.
1. Usually at the boot-up you'll hold down one of the following keys; "ESC, F1, F2, DEL and in some cases the F10. "Refer to your manual".
2. Tab, arrow or hit enter down to where you want to be. It's better to use the tab because you can't mistakenly change something as with the enter key. So use the TAB.
3. Put in your chosen password and hit Enter!
4. To save usually you can just hit F10 . It's all menu driven anyway.
See that was easy!Ooops, you forgot your password! Hey no problem.
There maybe a battery on your motherboard. If you remove that battery for a period of time it will wipe out the password that was setup. I can't remember exactly how much time the battery must stay out to clear.
Good luck! :-]
