I have a update on my bios from HP, the trouble is the computer came with w95,I have since did a clean install of windows me, the instruction from HP say to download to temp file & extract to floppy, then restart boot from floppy the one I just created with this bios flash, and it won't boot, I have tried it several times changed floppy, it does say format and select Copy System Files only,? does anybody have any idea I can use other floppys to boot.? Sue by the way HP isnt even on this any more.

Part of the problem may be related to Win ME - It's doesn't allow you to create a bootable disk (in the same fashion as prior releases. i.e. SYS A:) If you are doing this, it's obviously not from Win ME.
What you may have to do is create a boot disk, from the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs applet and then attempt to run the BIOS flash from another disk.
Just another of those little nice things the good folks at Microsoft decided to do with Win ME.
I've not had to flash my BIOS as yet with ME, so maybe someone else can provide you with better advice.

you can download a win95a bootdisk
from http://jason-n3xt.org/dos/#OTHERDISKS
and copy the flash and bios to it
and it will update your bios.
when prompted to save your old bios
choose yes and name it oldbios.bin,
so if you don't like what the new bios does
you can go back to your old bios.
as not all updates are helpfull.
I had my soundcard stop working and usb conflicts after flashing my gigabyte
motherboard.

I had the same kind of conflict problem after flashing the BIOS. I had to re-disable the on-board sound, uninstall the sound card, power down and move the sound card to a different slot, and re-install its drivers. Only a little better than messing with jumpers - isn't PNP great?
