Please help me this is m first post, I need to delete an entry in my C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\host because an unwanted entry find its way there. but when I search for it the file was replaced by a BAK file and I cannot find the real file. I have 10 units in my shops and all nine have this problem, only one unit have still the real file and not the BAK file and that one I was able to edit and repair. Your immediate response is highly appreciated

... you are posting in Windows "ME" forum so I assume all the other units also run "ME"

... what is the "real" file name?

... and when changed to "filename.bak" ...is the filename always the same?

Grrrr

No, the poster is clearly in the wrong forum, as there is no such directory as C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\host in Windows ME.
