Hello,
My WMP 9 won't play .avi videos.
-I downloaded the WMP 9 video codec.
-I downloaded the DivX codec.
-I downloaded a new copy of WMP 9 and re-installed it and re-booted.
-I downloaded a program called "GSpot" which analyzes a file, tells you the type, if you have the right codec, if your media player should be able to play it.According to the GSpot results, I have the right DivX codecs installed and all is good; but I still get a WMP error - won't play file(s) then WMP says it will "now close".
When I installed the WMP codec, (using the add/remove programs), I was asked to restart and later got a system update message on reboot. Same prodecdure for DivX codec, but no re-boot prompt.
I put both the DivX codec and WMP9 codec in their own folder and put both codec folders in the "Windows Media Player" folder.
It will play .mpg and .asf files.
I should note that I can't just download the DivX player because my CPU does not meet the minimum system requirements...
Any thoughts/solutions?
Thx.
