I have ME and every time I go to control panel>automatic updates and select "Turn off automatic updating" it still reverts back to "Notify me.........." How can I keep it on the one I select? thanks

Try renaming the following files; > WUAUBOOT.exe > WUAUCLT.exe > WUAURES.dll *That "should" disable automatic updates

Not that I'm aware of...I said "should" because we are talking about Windows here.

Summary: Curiously, there are no Windows Update files or directories on my hard drive(s). I have windows on C: and all programs on E: (for defrag's sake and to make things run faster...) and I haven't seen any...

Summary: When you auto update winME, are the compressed files stored on the harddrive in a way you can archive them for future reloads? any help will be appreciated ...
