Auto Protect Off

My computer's norton auto protect is disabled. Right before you go to the log in screen, it says " unable to initalize the virus scanning engine database files" What should I do? Reinstall it?

That is caused by using system restore. Error: "Unable to initialize virus scanning engine" or "Unable to initialize virus database scanning files" after installing Norton AntiVirus or running Windows System Restore
