I have selected auto update in the control pannel for all my updates. I also selected auto updates for Norton Firewall and Anti virus. I never get the notifications. I must check them on a daily basis for updates.I have dial up. What am I doing wrong, what can I do to correct this. Thanks Howard

Brooklynboy, SWAG, sounds to me like maybe they're being blocked by your firewall. See if you need to specifically allow them to pass. HTH. Ed in Texas.

to be honest id leave auto updates off anyway.(as with all screensavers wallpapers etc)unless u have good bit of ram.I find with auto updates on they slow up pc's.Only thing you really need to update is anti virus.everything else if not broke dont fix it as they say

There is little point in using auto updates with a dialup connection since the PC is probably off when the scheduler is set to check for the updates.
It's better with ME to do it manually as the last poster says.
