Hello,
I have a Sony PC that came preinstalled with a lot of software that I don't need. I hate having to remove the programs and then the system has all sorts of remaints from them resulting in problems. Anyhow, I now have a OEM version of WinME and it doesn't have the audio drivers that my system has. BUT, my system restore CD's have it. The problem is, I can't extract the drivers from the CD's unless I have both the restore CD's installed on my computer. Right now I DO HAVE the factory software installed and I want to know where I can grab the audio drivers from the system so I can save it to disk and install them on the OEM version. Can you tell me where those drivers are and what I need to copy?
Thanks!

install winzip/create a folder on your desktop to store the files/stick the restore cd in. stop the auto run /open windows explorer /right click the cdrom /choose explore. dig around in there till you see something that looks like audio drivers. with zip files right click choose "extract to" but dont extract them just view the list and drag over the files you want. You might get lucky and find a folder named "audio" or "drivers" making it easy to locate them. you can use this method to transfer programs/drivers just about anything. Im not familiar with sony PC's but if it similar to all the other restore disks you should be ok. Another option is to find out who makes the audio card and get drivers directly from them.
