Hi,
building a new rig ASUS socket478 Mainboard, Celeron "D" 2.66GHz.

have got new ATX PSU which has an extra "4 pin wire" to be plugged into the Mainboard for an Intel Pentium 4 CPU.

but i am using a Celeron CPU. Do i still have to plug the 4 pin Pentium 4 wire into the Mainboard if i am using Celeron CPU ??

the mainboard takes either a Pentium 4 OR Celeron CPU

thanks fer any help

rob

Well, if there is a connector for the 4 pin wire on your motherboard, plug it in, if there is no connector, don't. That wil lwork in any case.

the Mainboard Manual says to plug THAT wire drom the ATX PSU into the Mainboard.

so i think i might be doing that.

its just a bit confusing in that the wire is called "a Pentium4 wire". but will be running a Celeron "D"
