I have an application that won't start from the desktop shortcut. The target file in properties is the executable. All my other applications start ok. Any ideas?

Does the application start from anywhere else? For instance start>>programs.
If it starts from start>>programs fine and dandy....
Delete the non working shortcut from your desktop. Find the program in start>>programs. Right click on the entry that usually starts the program. Choose send to>>desktop(create shortcut).
