I've just bought this Midiland 4060 speaker system. The problem is the 2 satelite spks, which are connected to a subwoofer, cause some noisy sound SHZZZzzz all the time, whenever they are on. Even when I'm not playing any music, they still make that sound.
Is it because they are new or they are bad speakers ? Anyone encountered this situation before? Please help.
Otherwise I'll have to return these.

make sure the cable are connected properly. plug the speakers in without the sub see which one is causing the problem.

To Terry :There is no microphone near the speakers.
To Slamma : The satelite spks are plugged with RCA plugs into the sub. Therefore they cant be connected directly to the soundcard (which requires a stereo audio cable).Thank you for your responses

Answer to your first question is that if the problem happens all the time with the new system but never happened with the old system the problem is with the new speakers.
Trouble shooting: go down to radioshack You can get an 1/8th inch to two rca -Y- adaptor that will allow you to connect them directly to the sound card. 5$ or so. the 1/8th inch is male and depending on your speakers get male or female as needed.
Other suggestion is to connect these speakers to another sound card (another computer if you dont have a spair sound card)and see if it still happens. If you have to, lug the system to a friends house or down to the computer store and ask them if you can test them out. If the problem is definately in the speakers try to return it for another system. Good Luck.

NormIf you still have no solution...it could be "ground loop hum"..
Try search on any Engine...sometimes just plugging devices into different convenience outlets or power bars helps. Try different setups..
