Just wondering, when I have an Anti-virus like NAV 2001 running full time, do i still need to activate the one from the bios ? Is there a relation between the two or does it create conflict ?
And I might be a little anoying but if I'llTry,Trev,NewGrl or any of the regular helper read this, can you pay attention to: http://computing.net/windowsme/wwwboard/forum/20001.html again and let me know if your imagination is wild enought to thing of something new about it !!!!! Thanks again,
Marty

I'm running a P4-T motherboard, P4 1.7Ghz, 512 RDRAM. I have not seen any conflicts between Norton anti-virus and the one for the BIOS. I'm using NAV 2002, and NPF 2002.
About the mouse problem, I have a basic Logitech wheel mouse, not optical, and it's PS2 (no probs. with it)
What IRQ is your sound card set to? Could this cause a problem with your mouse? maybe.

there will be no conflict between your av 2001 and bios anti-virus since bios anti-virus protects your computer from viruses wanting to modify your system files eg. command.com when you are in dos mode or windows and Nav 2001 protects your system from these viruses too but not in dos mode where Nav 2001 is disabled.I used both..

in my experience using the mobo anti-virus can lead to big problems. it can interfear with loading an operating system amongst other things.

Thanks for replying,
itmdtr, My mouse is not sharing any IRQ whit anything cuz it does'nt even have one assign
for it !!! As for the sound card, it is sharing with one ethernet card (03) and the SB16 emulation is alone on 07, I've try many
different combinason of PCI slot and still freeze, but only while surfing, with Netscape as well, I'm gonna try UT on line see if it does the same, wonder if it is one of the eternet card but they're the same as before and were workin fine,
GURU, what kinda problem you thing it might create ? I'll try without it see if there a diff,

Guru is right.

You must disable the Anti Virus in the BIOS before installing OS otherwise the AV sees the installation as Viral activity.
