another bios question

CPU/Ram: toshiba

i have a toshiba satellite windows me, and my sound doesnt work so i wanted to check the bios to see if its enabled. but when i start my comPuter up and press DEL or hold it down it doesnt work and it just goes right to my regular programs. is there another way to check the bios?

Try the F1 or ESC keys to enter the BIOS.

Try this

Power up computer from off condition with ESC key depressed. Unit will display "Check system. Then press (F1) key"
Release the ESC key, press the F1 key. This will put the unit into the BIOS setup screen.
