Running with 250W power supply under windows ME.
Mother board PC DDR 266 - M830. RAM 128MB PC2100 DDR 266MHz DIMM

BIOS shows 1100. Have downloaded from mother board site but can't up date BIOS, flash file will not run

I know it is supposed to run around 1400.

Please advise:

Is the problem the power supply?

What is the correct flash programme & what are the instructions for use ?

What is the correct BIOS up date download

Part one: the XP 1700 runs normaly at 1400 but depending on your motherboard you should check your bus timing is it set to 100 or 133 Mhz? Use the performance options in your bios normaly it should do the job.

Part two: If it is a MSI board, you have to run the first bios update via floppy. After that the autoupdater from MSI will function.

I have had ALOT of problems with AMD athlon XP CPU's on MANY mainboards. They are always underclocking, failing, & overheating. I would actually recommend a Duron 1,300 MHZ CPU or a Pentium 4 over ANY Athlon XP CPU. Athlon XP Sucks!! Avoid it at all costs!!!!!
