After I shut down my computer normally, and I restart it, I always get the scandisk, saying that shutdown was not normal.

How can I fix that?

Its imortant, MS have identified that faster than 850mhz machines can shut down too fast causing problems.

I have the same problem with an Intel 733 on an Intel 815eea MB with 128 MB Ram, hard disk IBM 20 GB. I've heard it has something to do with the cache of the hard disk. If Windows Me shuts down, it writes something to disk. This comes in the disk cache and is writen to the disk.
If you have a fast system or a big disk cache, the computer is already down before your disk cache can be writen to the disk. So the information is lost and Windows Me will act as if you have not shutdown properly the next time you boot up.
I have no solution yet to this problem, except than killing scandisk all the time (via msconfig).
