Alot of Hidden Files PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I have a 30g hard drive and when I run scandisk it shows like 220 something hidden files. Im scared to delete anything (afraid it will be the wrong thing).PLEASE HELP!!!

There are a lot of files in Windows that are hidden. Most as a way of protecting them from accidental deletes and changes. I'd leave them alone unless I knew for sure they weren't needed.
