Go to Start, Run and type regedit.exe, when it pops up, press F3 and search for av.exe, on the right hand side,
when it has found the entry, right click on the item and delete the key. Also look for b.exe and bbb.exe...delete those too

I am running windows 98 and have this virus. I can't access regedit.exe. I get an error message "cannot find file 'regedit.exe' (or one of it's components)...." I have been able to access it in the past. My system boots up ok and I don't notice any problems other than the virus. Any help would be appreciated.

hmm... i tried a lot of things... but the last thing I tried hat really worked was deleting all AIM files from my comp, did an Ad-ware scan [which you can download for free at download.com, this program cleans out all spyware and ads that are saved onto your computer] and reinstalled the latest version of AIM. Make sure you SAVE your BUDDY list!!!

I dont think you need to do an Ad-ware or Virus scan, but if the files are still in your computer, it might start infecting your computer again. But the best way is to delete AIm and reinstall after you restart your computer. =] hope this helps.

I have gotten it one and i looked under Startup too see wut runs on start up and it was AV.exe located Right in C as a hidden File Just end the Task hit that handy dandy litle "Delete" button on ur Comp and poof magic. ONE MORE THING

Do not open "Internet Explorer" Yet First thing you would need to do is right click it annd reset your home page to another site to the Virus dont come in Via "cookie" Again And Vwallah (or wutteva" and ur done.

I recently received this AIM profile message that says "Happy Holidays Everyone!!
New Years 2003 Partayy!" Everytime I reboot and try to set up a new profile...this constantly reappears.
