Hi,
My laptop monitor has just gone bust and is going in for repair on Tuesday, thing is, I really need access to files on my hd, but i can't get it run with an external monitor, I have never used it with one b4, any tips on how to do this, it could save my life!!!!!!

basically there should be a function key on your keyboard normally F4 that has a picture of a laptop and monitor written in blue if you hold down the "FN" key at the bottom left of you keyboard and press the F4 key (or whatever key the diagram is on) it switches between laptop screen and external monitor
