Address bar stays blank?

Hi all,I hope someone can help me with this, my address bar remains blank when I go to different web pages. Does anyone know how to fix this. I would really appreciate.

When did this start?
After the word ADDRESS in the bar at the top, is there a white box, or some other color?
Can you type something in the white box and go there? Or are you not allowed to type?
Have you tried repairing internet Explorer? To do this: Go to control panel>>add/remove programs. Find Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 in the list. Click on it and hit add/remove. You will get some choices. Click repair and follow the onscreen instructions.
What other programs are you running on your computer? Anything that could have hooked itself onto the browser? Anything that could be controlling it?
