The last three times I used the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel , I would recieve an error message ,saying cannot locate install.log and it there for cannot remove program .I had to manually delete the apps .I have TweakUI ,so I was able to remove the entry from Add/Remove Programs. I also have Norton Utilities ,which would help remoove the registry entries pertaining to the apps. I would frist delete the main folder for the app thru Windows Explorer ! I was always under the assumption that it was safe to delete all .log files ,no one ever mentioned the need for install.log files being needed during the uninstalling process. Any input appreciated!
Thanks Nick

I forgot to mention ,I even tried installing one of the apps on top of itself ,hoping this would place the install.log file back on the H.D. and allow for removal via Add/Remove, no joy ?

Here's a list of files I routinely delete via a batch file (response #2):

As you can see, I do not delete *.log files. Any log file I delete is a specific file that is safe to delete.
Many logs are crap, e.g., the start AND finish of every instance performed by Scheduled Tasks is recorded in Schedlog.txt. But as you found out, all logs are not created equal.
Reinstalling the app was a good move; I'm surprised it didn't work. Besides Add/Remove in control panel, some programs in Start/Programs have an uninstall option listed.
