hello if you use partion magic you can create a partion with out loseing data. the other methoud is to use fdisk with boot disk but this metoud will delete alldata on hd. have a nice day

wawadave is right...fdisk will remove all existing data, which I believe is not in your plans. Another piece of software to consider is system commander 7, which I have used to re-partition an 80gb drive, including moving 20gb of data. sc7 has many capabilities worth exploring.
