Hello, I want to make a CD copy of another CD. I tried to use Adaptec CD copier to do that. But this message appears:
"CD Copier could not locate a supported CDROM reader. You will not be able to make disc-to-disc copeies."A CDROM reader can be a UDF reader, right? If so, I installed it, but the problem still exists. I tried to update my current version from 4.02 to 4.05, that didn't work either.
Any suggestions?Thank you in advance.

The Adaptec is trying to make a copy from one CD drive to another, meaning it is looking for two CD drives. If you just have one, then it is telling you that you need two to do this setup.
You need to first make a CD image to your harddrive and then burn a CD from that image.

Agree with Dave, and also if you want to copy from one to another you better have a lot of memory!! Best way is to copy CD to Folder, then burn from there and delete the files when done, unless you have an actual CD copier, but then if you did, you wouldn't be here. LOL

It gives that error message on my computer sometimes too, but it finds both my cd drives just fine if I restart the computer right before I want to use the program. I have no idea why, but try it again immediately after a restart.

Just a guess, but I assume since your message from Adaptec says it cannot find a supported disk, then it does not recognize the DVD drive as a CD rom drive. It is probably looking for a Basic CD rom drive, and is not finding one.
Just a guess.

I ws wondering if the way you have your drives setup could be the problem. The recomended way is to have the burner setup as the master on the second IDE . My configuration , that works fine when recording from my CD-RW (Secondary master) to my DVD-ROM (Secondary slave) using Easy CD Creator ver4.05 works great ! Go to device manager , click on view device by connection and see how you system is setup ! LOL ,Nick

i have cd creator 4 it gives my errors to and only lets me burn at 2x piece of junk get nero next time lol

I've seen this message when trying to use a version of CD Copier with a CDRW drive other than the one the driver was shipped for.
Is this the original CD Copier application that came with your CDRW drive ? Or did you get this version from 'somewhere else'.
