i downloaded this win me debugging package from microsoft.com/download/symbols/debuggers/winmeddk.exe in order to use the softice...and installed it using its system.ini method as the other one made my computer crash and had to reinstall the os...but after installing the package i find that my adobe acrobat is not starting up...i tried reinstalling it but no use.. and also when i run the symbol loader from softice 4.5 it says that softice is not active...i guess softice must get active automatically after boot up....

do i have to uninstall the debug package...
help.......

not much on softice but I have tinkered with it, so I do know it changes your sys settings when you download it, maybe it didnt download correctly, and it sounds like it screwed up your sys settings a bit, just try unistalling both acrobat and softice, and reboot see if that gives any errors, and then reinstall acrobat, and see if it works, and then in my opinion, leave softice off the PC, it's not even that cool of a program, and it's much easier to find some one who has already done the work for you, if you know what I mean, plus stop downloading windows patches, as far as Im concered they dont even work, so it's a waiste of time to do so.

hope this helps
