The AC'97 sound chip in my Pentium 4
system is running at about 20 percent
overspeed. Is this a hardware problem or
does my ME have faulty drivers?

When I frist recieved my Pentium III 750MHZ it came pre-loaded with Windows Me. The motherboard in the system had intergrated graphics and intergrated AC'97 sound. I had constant sound problems, sound sometimes, most of the time no sound. After spending hours on the phone with support still could not fix the problem. Finally came to conclusion it was a hardware problem. I installed a PCI sound card and not only do I have better sound , it always works! Good Luck
