If it is for the same app, select them both and reboot. The result should be just one entry.

Felix,to remove items from msconfig you need to go into the registry.Note always backup the registry before making any changes to it. Start Run Type REGEDIT ok CLICK the PLUS signs besides HKEY LOCAL MACHINE SOFTWARE MICROSOFT WINDOWS CURRENT VERSION Highlight each RUN that you see(the ones with the -sign are unchecked in msconfig) look in the right hand pane and you can delete the ones you are sure are not needed If you cant find them all in there go to HKEY CURRENT USER and use the same procedure, always use caution in the registry.

Thanks to all for their comments. I have done a lot of searching, research & checking & I have decided (maybe) the best way to avoid doubled up entries in msconfig is to ensure programs are selected before uninstalling/ that seems to work really well. Also I have seen (of course) differing views on what one should or should not deselect in msconfig eg load power profile/ when I deselected this my 'puter would not start at all/ reselected it & action cheers
